James Ferry

October 12, 1987 — May 16, 2016

James Evan Ferry, 28, of West Chester, PA passed away on May 16, 2016.



He was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1987. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 149 in Thornton, PA. Following graduation from West Chester East High School, James joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He served as a Sergeant in the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion.



After his honorable discharge, he enrolled in college while managing his father's restaurant, "Moriarty's" in Philadelphia, PA. Recently he lived and worked in West Chester.



He was an avid outdoorsman, proud member of the NRA and felt most comfortable in the wilderness sharing many adventures with his lifelong friends and brothers.



Known to his family as Evan, he was the beloved son of John E. Ferry and Christine McCloskey Kinsey and stepfather, Wayne Kinsey; loving brother of Captain John E. Ferry, Jr., U.S. Army (Rachael) of Colorado Springs, CO and Légionnaire de 1ère Classe Robert L. Ferry, Légion Étrangère; dear grandson of Mary Ellen and the late Robert McCloskey and Laura Ferry Sherwood.



Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 and after 11:30 AM Thursday, May 26th at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by his Funeral Mass 12:30 PM at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA.



Retelling of Evan's smirk, his hi-jinks and his recon missions will be held after services.
