James J. "Turk" Gorman

James J. "Turk" Gorman, age 61, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away suddenly on February 28, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Anne Burke (nee Cunningham) and the late William Gorman. He was the beloved husband of the late Maryann Thompson-Gorman.

Turk was employed by the Upper Darby School District in the Maintenance Department.  

Turk loved listening to Classic Rock, especially Ian Hunter, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Paul Simon. He enjoyed reading, history, and politics. He loved taking vacations to Wildwood every summer and spending time with his family, especially his three loving sons.

Turk was an easy-going guy who got along with everyone he met, which is evident by his countless number of friends. He loved to make people laugh and would command a room with his storytelling ability and hilarious stories. His energy was infectious and will be missed by all those who knew him.

Above everything else, Turk was especially passionate about helping his friends and family, which is what he cared most about.

In addition to his mother, Turk is survived by his loving sons Sean Gorman, Ryan Gorman and Ian Gorman.  Brother of Michael Burke, Judy Burke and the late Diane Gorman and Bill Gorman.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 6:00-7:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Service at 7:00 PM.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Turk's memory to Project HOME, 1515 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19130 would be appreciated.
