James Hale, Sr.

JAMES F. "JIM" HALE, SR., 85, of Newtown Square, PA and formerly of Manoa, PA passed away on August 4, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1932, he was the son of the late John J. and Mary L. (McGinnis) Hale.
He served honorably in the US Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War.
James was a 1950 graduate of St. James High School, where he played Baseball. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church for many years and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic War Vets and Corsacs Singing Group. He presided over the 68th Street Beach in Sea Isle City, NJ for many years and was lovingly referred to as Pop-Pop by all.
James was the beloved husband for 57 years of Mary Teresa (Smith) Hale; loving father of James F. Hale, Jr., Michael B. (Kathleen), Mary Lou Skrocki (John), Rosanne Reinhart (David), John J. Hale (Kim) and Eileen Raven (Ted); devoted Pop-Pop of Jillian, James III, Ryan, Jocelyn, Kirsten, Shannon, Jake, Johnny, Jackson, Connor, Nolan, Colleen, Teddy, Shelby, Mia and Charlie; dear brother of Mary Patricia Hale, SND and Thomas Hale (Eileen). He was predeceased by his siblings; Jack, Joe, Patricia Mary Hale, IHM and Betty Toland.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 6:00-9:00 PM Friday, August 11, 2017 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382,610-431-9000 and 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 106 Wilson Ave, Havertown, PA 19083 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
