On 13 January 2018, our "Big Man joined the Band".
Beloved husband of Barbara A. (Swank) Henderson; loving father of Linda A. Henderson (Robert Bracalente) of Honey Brook, PA, Sharon H. Hangliter of West Chester, PA, Janice L. Pereira (Edson) of Newtown Square, PA, and James P. Henderson, Jr. (Carra) of Weymouth, MA; devoted Pop-Pop of Luke Hangliter, Marin Hangliter, and Nora Henderson; dear brother of William F. Henderson (Mary Ann).
Graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and University of Pennsylvania, Jim rowed for both and for Penn AC on the Schuylkill.
His loves were his family, coaching, Ocean City NJ, and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. A coach for 40 years of basketball, track, soccer, and field hockey goalies, Jim has left his legacy with hundreds of kids at SS. Simon & Jude, Villa Maria Academy, Devon Prep, Bishop Shanahan, Henderson High School, and Episcopal Academy.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 and 9:00-10:30 AM Friday at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at SS. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
