James Kapourelos

James G. “Jimmy” Kapourelos, 93, formerly of West Chester and Delaware County, passed away on May 24, 2020.

Born in Chester, PA in 1926, James was the son of the late George Anthony and Anastasia (nee Daskalakis) Kapourelos. He served honorably in the US Navy. James was a professional singer and performed at the Newtown Squire Restaurant as the leader of the Jim Athens Trio for 14 years. During the summer, he performed at the Golden Inn in Avalon, NJ and also toured with the Al Alberts and the Four Aces.

James was the loving father of William J. Kapourelos; predeceased by his twin sister Helen Siti, his brothers, Anthony, Tolly, William, and Peter (Rita), and sisters, Estelle Mougiannis and Mary Christulides; caring uncle of Maria Kapourelos, George Kapourelos, and Elpi Altum.

Due to Covid-19, a private graveside will be held immediately and a memorial service will be held at a later date at St. George’s Orthodox Church, Middletown, PA.
