James Springer Krall

June 7, 1935 — September 30, 2024

James Springer Krall, affectionately known as Jim or Jimmy, age 89, of Drexel Hill, PA, peacefully passed away on September 30, 2024, with his wife, son and daughter by his side. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Marian Krall (nee Kephart).

After graduating from West Catholic High School for Boys in 1953, Jim began his career as a typesetter at Fullers. After not too long, Mr. Fuller promoted Jim to foreman because Jim “knew how to get things done.” Eventually wanting to be his own boss, Jim later opened "Cherry Hill Composition." In the late 80s his son joined the printing business, working side by side for over 30 years.

Jim and Gail met each other as teenagers and married on October 26, 1957; resulting in over 66 years of love, kindness and respect. Jim was a family man who he gave his wife a kiss every morning before leaving for work and was home each night for 5:30pm dinner. Jim and Gail were a fantastic team who loved to go out to dinner with friends, went all out when hosting their legendary parties and welcomed family and friends during the holidays. Jim was an amazing dad who celebrated birthdays, went on summer vacations, attended games/special events and was always a constant source of support and strength.

Jim loved to laugh and have a good time; he appreciated a good sense of humor and had a silly side to him. Generous in nature, Jim always wanted to treat people as an expression of his love, affection and friendship. Ever the gentleman, he was a nice guy who got along with everyone. In the 90’s Jim was on a local bowling team with his son and friends where he was known as “Popsi”, he’d meet up regularly with his poker buddies over the years, he took up golf in his 60s which became a lifelong passion and enjoyed deep sea fishing. And of course, Jim was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan who looked forward to every game. Go Phils! Go Birds!

Jim was the beloved husband of Catherine Gail Krall (nee Boyle); loving father of James S. Krall Jr. (Lori) and Jacqueline Krall (Phil Berryman); adoring grandfather of James S. Krall, III (Amanda Piscitello) and Alexandra DeLuca (Blaise); caring brother of Patsy. Predeceased by his siblings Jane, Doris, Betty, Kitty, Billy, Frankie, and Jack.
