James Aloysius “Dinny” Lynch, age 74, of Havertown, PA, passed away on April 22, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1948, he was the son of the late John D. and Catherine E. “Kate” (nee Brennan) Lynch. James served honorably in the US Air Force. He graduated from St. Joseph University. James worked for the Department of Public Welfare as a Case Work Supervisor.
Dinny loved his family above all else. They were his life; they meant everything to him. He loved vacationing with them in the “Outer Banks” every year. He loved coaching his children at Hilltop Baseball Field when they were young. And he loved the next generation no less, guiding grandchildren in their sports and attending their sporting events.
Dinny loved golfing with his buddies on Wednesdays—the highlight of his week—and he never let them, or any or us, forget the “Hole-in-One” he shot while vacationing in the Outer Banks. He loved Philadelphia sports—the Phillies, the Sixers, and the Eagles, as well as Penn State teams. As one might expect of such an incurable lover as Dinny Lynch, he was a very kind, good, honest, gentle, non-judgmental man, and he himself was loved deeply by all. We will miss him terribly.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen W. (nee Walsh); loving father of Patrick (Jeannie) and Mary Kate Recktenwald (Eric); dear brother of Johnette Cooke, Mark Lynch (Karen), Christine Bagent (Charlie), and the late Suzanne Lynch; also survived by 5 grandchildren, Jack, Patrick, Daniel, Molly, and William
