James Murphy

James M. Murphy, age 86, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on July 31, 2019.
Born in Philadelphia to the late James A. and Kathryn (nee Byrne) Murphy, James was a graduate of St. Thomas More High School, Class of 1950 and proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He later worked at the Gulf Oil Refinery in South Philadelphia. James enjoyed many years officiating high school and college football. He also enjoyed golfing with family and friends
James is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth G. "Betsy" Murphy (nee Morris), his loving children James Murphy (Juanita), Patrick Murphy (Judy) and William Murphy and by his sister Kay Gross (the late Tony). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. James was predeceased by his sister Dolores Kane (the late Jack).
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Tuesday, August 6th from 9:30 to 10:50 AM at St. Bernadette de Lourdes Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment is Private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in James' memory to Friends for Friends Charity, 105 Cardinal Drive, Conshohocken, PA 19428 would be appreciated.
