James F. Martin, 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family April 20, 2024. Beloved son of the late James F. and Josephine (nee Reagan) Martin Sr.
James (Jim) is survived by his children, Rose Anne Rosenstock (Todd), James Martin (Renee Hallermeier), Michael Martin (Mary Barr), Maureen Alf (Ronald), Joseph Martin, John Martin (Ellen Vogel), Thomas Martin, Therese DeRita (Marc), Christopher Martin (Lori Baum); 24 grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren; Sister Helen O’Connell of Cape May, N.J. He was predeceased by his dear wife Rose A. (nee Anderson) Martin; daughter, Catherine Moore; sister, Josephine “Bunny” Tolson, of Ocean City, N.J; And brother, Thomas Quinlan.
Jim graduated from St. James High School in 1950, and from LaSalle University in 1954. In 1954, he began a long and successful career as an Administrator with the Devereaux Foundation. After leaving Devereaux, he worked for the PA Liquor Control Board for almost 20 years, finally retiring in 1996. Jim was a weekend gardener and a faithful fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He also enjoyed traveling to Ocean City, NJ with his children to visit his sisters and their children. In his later years, he faithfully attended the sporting events and plays of his grandchildren. Jim was a parishioner of Saint Anastasia parish for over fifty years and a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus.
Relatives and friends are invited to James Viewing Friday, April 26th from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
