James Adam McAteer, passed away on May 5th, 2020. The Lord called Home Bluff, son brother, uncle and nephew James A. McAteer.
Born October 2nd, 1985 to Joseph and Carla McAteer of Newtown Square, PA. His family and friends lovingly called him Jimmy. He's remembered as the pickiest eater as a child, surviving off of peanut butter and Jelly, Chicken Flavored Rice a Roni, and his favorite dinner raviolis.
Jimmy faced many struggles with mental health issues early in life. His family supported him, especially his parents who fought for him endlessly. They always did everything they could to help him. Amongst Jimmies many battles he never failed to demonstrate forgiveness to those who judged him. He continued to love and forgive. Jimmy loved the Lord and that fact isn't more evident than his capacity to love, accept and forgive. Thank you Jimmy, for displaying such an example of the Lords love for us amongst the battles. You sir, have triumphed.
Your Big Blue eyes, wonderful smile and unique sense of humor will be greatly missed. We fondly remember calling you “Emperor Boy”, telling us you would marry Mommy. And thanks to you, are laughing at the current state of toilet paper consumption in the world.
Anyone who knew Jimmy, Knows how important this next part will be. As family meant the world to him.
Jim is survived by his parents Joseph and Carla McAteer. Siblings, Joseph, Amy, Anna, and Noah. Nieces and nephews, Kendall Taylor, Cayden, Tygh and Elle.
He is survived by his beloved aunts Betty Orban, Shirley Daddario, Candy Alden. His numerous cousins, he would want named but it’s far too many. One cousin, though he held dear as one of his best friends, Jessica Johnson.
Jimmy loved visiting with his aunt Edie Petransky, whom he called Julia Roberts, her husband, Billy Joe he called Billy Joel, Annemarie and Jimmy Tomosky.
Carla and Joe thank you for the love you extended to Jimmy. He really loved being at the Christmas party with everyone.
Jimmy spoke a lot about those who preceded him in death and we can only imagine how welcomed he was by; grandparents Sam and Elizabeth Hanson, Edith McAteer ,Joseph McAteer, his brother Michael McAteer, his uncle Thomas McAteer, his aunts “Big Linda” (Koustinikaus) and “little Linda” (Johnson) , cousins Daniel Alden, Thomas McAteer, and Dylan Leonardo.
Jimmy loved music so anytime you hear a song that reminds you of him, know he's with you.
Those we love don't go away they.
They walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard but always near
still loved, still missed and very dear.
Hasta la vista jimmy Mac.
