James F. McCanney, age78, of Aldan, PA, passed away on November 27, 2014.
Born in Philadelphia to the late James F., Sr. and Dorothy (nee Osborne) McCanney, James attended West Catholic High School, proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was the Superintendent of the University of Pennsylvania Archeological Museum.
James is predeceased by his beloved wife Theresa A. (nee Fitzpatrick). He is survived by his loving children Patrick M. (Priscilla), Lawrence J. (Suzanne), Sharon D. and Christopher J. (Barbara) McCanney, his cherished grandchildren, Theresa, Shannon, Lawrence, Joseph, James, Daniel, Ryan, Connor, Kevin, Daniel, Samuel and Liam. He is also survived by his 3 great-granddaughters and his siblings Dorothy Grinnen, Nancy Hasson and Daniel McCanney.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082 (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Mass, Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 500 Woodlawn Ave., Collingdale, PA 19023.
Interment private.
