James Patrick McFadden

March 22, 1958 — July 7, 2022

Drexel Hill, PA

James Patrick McFadden (affectionately known as "Jimmy Mac") passed away into eternal life on July 7, 2022. He was born to Vincent and Eleanor McFadden and raised in Drexel Hill, PA. Jim was one of 6 children and attended St. Charles Borromeo grade school and was a proud graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School, class of 1976. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Springfield. He worked as the Director of Life Safety and Security at the International Plaza for nearly 20 years. In the past, Jim worked many years for Clifton Precision and Mercy Fitzgerald hospital.

He was married to his best friend and love of his life, Maryanne, in September of 1982. Jim's life was full of many blessings - the greatest being his family.

A Christmas fanatic, Jim took great pride in perfecting his village of misfit toys and making sure every branch of his tree had the right amount of tinsel and lights. Next to Christmas, Jim's favorite holiday was St. Patrick's Day, never missing the opportunity to listen to Irish music and have his annual ham and cabbage. He was a lover of Guinness and Cabernet, and dining out with his family. Jim had a fondness for 60s music and was eager to make others listen to his favorite tunes. He was a classic film enthusiast. He was the life of the party and always the first on the dance floor. Jim was an avid sports fan, Penn State football being # 1. He was also a lifelong fan of the Phillies and the Eagles, and lately enjoyed watching golf. Jim deeply loved his dogs, and treated them like his children.

Jim was truly a larger than life character. He relished all birthdays, vacations, holidays and special occasions. A selfless person, Jim was the first to lend a hand at a moment's notice and his loyalty to friends and family was unmatched.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Maryanne; his 5 children and their spouses - Jim and Emma McFadden, Gina and Jim Duffy, John and Kristina McFadden, Jennifer McFadden and Daniel Spevak, and Kevin McFadden and Mary Thompson; as well as his four grandchildren - Alaina and Emilia Duffy and Austin and Saoirse McFadden. He is also survived by his 4 siblings and their spouses - Marie Battersby, Vince and Lee McFadden, Tom and Barbara McFadden, and Bob McFadden. Jim has many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly. Jim was predeceased by his sister, Regina and his parents, Vincent and Eleanor.

Jim, Dad, Pop-Pop, you will be forever missed and never forgotten.
