James Miller

James D. “Jim” Miller, age 79, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on September 2, 2020.

He was born and grew up on a farm in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Leila B. (nee Sidles) Miller and the late Donald James “Don” Miller.

Jim graduated from North Texas State University, Class of 1968, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  He went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He then began a memorable career in the financial industry.

Jim was a member of the St. David’s Golf Club in St. David’s, PA where he was club champion three years in a row.  He also was a self-taught “Chef Hobbiest!”  More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jim was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (nee Augusterfer) Miller; the loving father of Jennifer Miller Albany (Chris), Robb Miller (Jeannie) and loving step-father of Denise Gotthardt (Bob) and Connor Hannan; the devoted grandfather of Christopher, Matthew, Kyler, Carter, Cole, McKenzie, Chloe, Jack, Darryl, Oksana, Elizabeth and Lily.  He is also survived by his mother, Leila B. (nee Sidles) Miller, sister, Janet Barkee (Chuck), and daughter-in-law, Jonna Hannan. Jim was predeceased by his first wife, the mother of his children, Virginia (nee Shaw) Miller and his step-son, David Hannan.

Services and interment will be held privately.
