James T. Newman, 95, of Newtown Square, PA passed away on August 20, 2016.
Born in Youngstown, OH in 1920, James was the beloved son of the late John Patrick and Ellen Corbett (Demond) Newman.
James served honorably in the US Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and worked as an Insurance Underwriter with Travelers Insurance in Philadelphia until his retirement in 1984.
James was the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Noll) Newman; loving father of James C. (Carol), John P. (Andrea), Thomas M. (Arlene), William E. (Lidia), Marianne Galligan (John) and Paul J. (Jamee); loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings; John M., Ellen C., Joseph V. and Mary M. Edwards.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:00-10:30 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA and to his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 W. Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
