James F. Ortlieb, 88, formerly of Aldan, PA passed away on August 22, 2016.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, James was the son of the late James C. and Helen (Burckey) Ortlieb.
He was a graduate of North Catholic High School and served honorably in the US Army during World War II.
James worked as a steamfitter with Local 420 in Philadelphia, PA.
He was active with the Boys Club in Aldan, a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and was very active with the Holy Cross Senior Citizens Club. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed singing.
James was the beloved husband of the late Magdalena (Decker) Ortlieb and Helen (Cartlidge) Ortlieb; loving father of Catherine A. Malone (Kevin), Christine O. Palmer (Robert), James M. (Jacqueline); loving grandfather of Stefanie, Jennifer, Kyle, Justin and Adam; dear great-grandfather of four great-grandchildren; dear brother of the late Margaret M. Fawcett and Francis E. Ortlieb.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:30-10:30 AM Friday, August 26, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 460 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA, followed immediately by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
