James Vincent Prozzillo passed away on July 17, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Sarah (Vesci) Prozzillo. He was the loving husband of Antoinette E. (Salvo) Prozzillo. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on July 31st, 2017.
James was the proud father of Pasqual Prozzillo (Eileen) of Lancaster, PA, John Prozzillo (Holly) of Lebanon, PA and the late James Vincent Prozzillo, Jr. In addition he is also survived by four granddaughters Catherine, Annemarie, Ashley and Jessica and his two brothers Fred Prozzillo, (Bernadette), Pasquale Prozzillo (Doris), and his one sister Joanne Prozzillo. He was predeceased by two brothers Nicholas Prozzillo and Frank Prozzillo, as well as three sisters, Angelina Voili, Rose (Tootsie) Siciliano and Barbara Donato.
James attended and graduated from Dobbins Technical School. In 1960, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served two years. James became a Pennsylvania State Trooper in 1958, being stationed in Lykens, Gettysburg, Philadelphia, and Media. He served on the Executive Detail under former Governor Milton J. Shapp for eight years. James retired as a Sergeant from the Pennsylvania State Police in January, 1992. He later worked as a security guard at Lankenau Hospital until 2007.
James was also a member of the Sons of Italy

Lodge 2085, League of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, American Legion Post 805, and the FOP Lodge #37 for over 50 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday Eve, July 23, 2017 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300 and 9:00-9:50 AM Monday at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made by check to Troopers Helping Troopers (a 501(c)3 charitable organization).
