James “Jim” Francis Steinbrecher, Sr., 87, of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.
Born October 13, 1937 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Clare (nee Saltry) Steinbrecher.
Jim served honorably in the U.S. National Guard for 6 years.
Jim had a long and successful career in medical sales, working well into his 70’s. He took pride in his relationships with hospital staff over the years throughout the entire Northeast region.
Jim was happiest on the golf course. He was a member for many years at Penn Oaks Golf Club before joining Downingtown County Club. He valued his friendships and spoke of his golf friends up to his passing. Two holes in one were his crowning achievements.
The only thing Jim loved more than golf was his family. Jim was the beloved husband of Sally (nee Kelly) Steinbrecher, whom he would have celebrated his 65th wedding anniversary on May 7th; loving father of M. Claire Leach (Clayton), Joan Laverty (the late Ken), Jim Steinbrecher, Jr., Julie A. Grear (Craig), and Michael Steinbrecher (Megan); adoring grandfather of Ashley, Samantha, Andrew, Jack, Emily, Franklin, Benjamin, and Lana; and proud great-grandfather of Charlotte. He was predeceased by his sister, Anne Carson.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM, Monday, May 5, 2025 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 1325 Boot Rd, West Chester, PA 19380, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment at St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Chester Food Cupboard, 431 S. Bolmar St, West Chester, PA 19382.
