James R. Tierney, Jr.

James R. “Jim” Tierney, Jr., age 76, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on December 20, 2022.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James R. Tierney, Sr. and Claire E. Tierney (nee Springfield). 

Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War era.   He had been employed as an Insurance Agent. Later in life Jim took lessons to become a glider pilot.

Jim is survived by his loving children James R. Tierney, III (Anna), Moira E. Tierney and Claire R. Tierney.  Dear grandfather of James Tierney, IV, Rose Tierney and Liam Tierney.  Brother of William, Kevin, Brian and Michael Tierney.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, December 30, 2022 9:30 -10:25 AM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
