James Joseph "Jim" Wagner

James Joseph “Jim” Wagner, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George Montgomery, Sr. and Margaret Colleen (née Ryan) Wagner.

Jim was the owner/operator of Wagner Construction.  He was outgoing and sociable who enjoyed meeting and being with people. He was very active in sports, especially as a softball player.  He also loved to travel and delighted in spending time at the shore at the Villas, NJ. Jim also held the designation as a 4th degree Knight of Columbus.

Jim was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Ann (née Wilson) Wagner; the loving father of Bethanne McGready (Patrick) and Bernadette Wagner; the proud grandfather of Maggie and Abigeal McGready; and the dear brother of Mary Ella Verdes.  Jim is predeceased by his loving siblings, George Montgomery Wagner, Jr. and Theresa Fleming.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation, Friday, May 12, 2023, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment private.
