James Ward

James J. Ward, age 85, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on December 13, 2017.



Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James H. and Marion C. (nee Stone) Ward. James graduated with two Bachelor of Science Degrees, one from Villanova University and a second from Drexel University. He was employed as an Electrical Engineer for Philadelphia Electric Company. James honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, with the 101st Airborne Division, where he was stationed in Germany. He highly valued his time in the military. James delighted in playing tennis, enjoyed fishing, time at the beach, eating crab with his friends and traveling.



James was beloved husband of Claudette E. (nee Uebele) Ward, the loving father of Lisa (Matthew Suhanec) Ward, James (Michele Fantazzio) Ward, and Laura (Edward) Winfield. He was the proud grandfather of Casey, Colin, Jack, Meghan, Caleigh, Charlotte, Nicholas, and Francesca. James was the caring brother of John Emmett (Jane) Ward, Marion (Bob) McVeigh and the late Joseph and William Ward.



Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Sunday evening, December 17, 2017, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Funeral Mass will take place 10:00 AM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at St. John Neumann, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010, 610-525-3100. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
