Jane B. Paris

Jane B. Paris, 73, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away January 17, 2025.

Born September 1, 1951 in Phoenixville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Elizabeth J. (nee Reifsynder) Barnes.

Jane was a 1969 graduate of Phoenixville high school where she was active in all things music related and especially enjoyed marching band. Jane continued on to study Music education at Susquehanna University where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1973. Jane also earned a master’s degree in education from West Chester University. Jane taught music at The Norwood School where she met the love of her life, 5th grade teacher Frank Paris. After spending several years as a stay-at-home mom to her two children Jane returned to teaching where she taught at Fugett Middle School in West Chester. Jane also directed choirs and taught classes in the music department of West Chester University. She was a true lover of music and wanted to spread it’s joy to everyone around her.

Besides Music Jane truly loved her friends and family. Jane was an amazing mother to Scott and Laura. From hand sewn Halloween costumes to homemade birthday cakes, Jane did it all. Jane was also, all-in as a mum-mum to her great-grandsons Ben, Jack, and Joey. Jane had a love of genealogy and proudly traced her lineage back many generations. Jane loved to spend time at her home in Sunset Beach, NC where she spent time studying the local history, enjoying the beach and eating at her favorite seafood spot, Ella’s. Jane was a wonderful support for her son Scott after his accident and provided him with comfort and love until his passing last year.

Jane was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Paris, Jr.; loving mother of Laura Shadow (Daniel); adoring grandmother of Benjamin, Jack, and Joseph; and dear sister of Robert S. Barnes (Sharon). She was predeceased by her son, Scott F. Paris and her brother, Jeff Barnes.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA, 19382, followed by her Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM.
