Jane Shannon (nee Donovan), age 76, a 41 year resident of Devon, PA, passed away on April 11, 2015. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Kathleen Donovan (nee Mathews).
Jane was raised in Drexel Hill, PA and was a graduate of Upper Darby High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Trinity College in Washington, DC and received her Master's Degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She had been employed as an elementary school teacher.
She married James "Jim" Shannon in 1964. They were married for 49 years until his death in 2013. She loved reading, book clubs, volunteer teaching, crossword puzzles, the Phillies, and summers in Ocean City.
Jane is survived by her sons David, Kevin and Brendan, her grandchildren Caroline, Lucy and William and her brother Rob Donovan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family on Friday, April 17, 2015 9:30-10:20 AM at St. Monica Church, 635 First Avenue, Berwyn, PA. Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
