Janet Friel

Janet R. Friel (nee Drumheller), age 83, a 57 year resident of Upper Darby, PA, formerly of Darby, PA, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2016. Although Janet was declining in health she retained her quick wit and independent spirit until the end. Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elwood Drumheller and Mary DeGenova (nee Ryan). A graduate of Darby High School, she used her love of numbers through employment at Young Supply and then for Bell Telephone/Verizon in their Lansdowne, PA office.



Janet is survived by her children John Friel, Monica Bayruns (Tim), Carolyn Nonnemacher (Harry), and daughter-in-law Mary Jane Friel. Also survived by her grandchildren TJ and Jillian Bayruns, Wesley and Zach Friel and her sisters Pat LeVan and Dorothy McKee. Predeceased by son William Friel and siblings Phyllis Blessing, Carol Koltonuk and James Drumheller.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, March 28, 2016 9:30-10:30 AM St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.



In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet's memory to St. Bernadette School, 1001 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 would be appreciated.
