Janice H. Kane, 69, of Phoenixville, PA, formerly of West Chester, PA, passed away on July 12, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1949, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (nee Gerbron) Ruth. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1967 and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She served as an active duty Army Nurse for 3 years and continued serving her country in the Army Reserves until 1991. Jan worked as a Registered Nurse at the VA Coatesville Medical Center during the 1980's-90's.
Jan enjoyed doing volunteer work over the years, most recently at Cornerstone Clubhouse in Phoenixville, PA helping individuals with mental illness.
She also enjoyed horseback riding, skiing, and traveling, especially to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Jan was the beloved wife of Jack Kane; loving mother of Christina L. (nee Fullerton) Kirby (Kevin), Jeffrey S. Fullerton, and Steven M. Kane; adoring grandmother of Connor, Aidan, and Kaitlyn Kirby; dear sister of Paul Ruth.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9-11 AM Friday, July 20, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM.
Interment private.
