Jason Finnie

January 18, 1976 — May 31, 2013

Jason Richard Finnie, 37, of Exton, went to be with his Lord on May 31, 2013, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He became an insulin-dependent diabetic at age 8, and for the last 2.5 years underwent dialysis due to kidney failure.

Jason was a graduate of Downingtown High School (now Downingtown West). He attended Roanoke Bible College in North Caroline and Cincinnati Bible College. He was employed by VWR in West Chester; later his position was outsourced to Wyeth in Collegeville. Since 2009, he worked as a security and safety officer at Paoli Hospital.

As a youth, Jason played baseball and soccer and wrestled through the Lionville Youth Association. He enjoyed playing the saxophone in the marching band in high school, and he played the guitar for many years on the worship team at Christ's Church of the Valley in Collegeville, where his family still attends. Jason was a paintball enthusiast. He also enjoyed motocross racing, cycling, and jet skiing. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his children and family.

Jason was the dearly loved son of John Richard and Karen Leigh Finnie of Exton; brother of Lydia Dartt of Atlanta, GA, and her family; proud, loving father of Joshua and Caitlyn Finnie of Franklinville, NJ; and grandson of Jerry and Alice Finnie of West Chester, PA.

Family and friends are invited to Jason's Visitation 10:00-10:30 AM and to his Memorial Service 10:30-11:30 AM Wednesday, June 5th at the Donohue Funeral Home at 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000. Interment will be private.
