Jean Armstrong, 91, of West Chester, PA, passed away on March 9, 2019.
Born July 9, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adelbert Parker and Anna Elizabeth (nee Bennet) Lowrie.
Jean's first job was in the Accounting Department for Bell Telephone in 1944.
After raising her kids, she later worked in accounts receivable for Autocar Trucks, and then volunteered for the Chester County Hospital. She was an active member of Ss. Simon and Jude parish.
She enjoyed going to Mass and going out with the breakfast club afterward.
She loved the beach, cooking, sewing and traveling.
Her favorite times were spent with family and friends.
For 70 years, she has been the beloved wife of James Alphonsas Armstrong. She was the loving mother of Linda Ann Armstrong Lowrie (Scott Lowrie); James Michael Armstrong (Linda Hudson Armstrong); adoring grandmother of Melissa Lowrie, Tim Lowrie (Carrie Woodroof Lowrie); Nicole Armstrong Cattano (Vince Cattano), Colleen Armstrong Tode (Brett Tode), Christine Armstrong Bowie (Bob Bowie), Amanda Wilkinson, Kathryn Wilkinson, and Courtney Wilkinson; caring great-grandmother of Ryder Lowrie, Colby Lowrie, Nick Tode, Kyle Tode, Brooke Tode, Colton Bowie, and Grady Bowie; and dear sister-in-law of Anna Marie Armstrong Brown. She was predeceased by her son, Gary Paul Armstrong, her daughter-in-law Denise Roberts Armstrong, Jim's wife of 30 years, her brother, Adelbert Thomas Lowrie, her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Walker Lowrie, and brother-in-law, William John Armstrong.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:30 AM to 11:50 AM, Thursday March 21, 2019 at Ss. Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Ct., West Chester, PA followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM. Interment Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
