Jean Joly Brennan

Jean Joly Brennan of Glen Mills, PA passed away on August 27, 2023 at the age of 82.

Jean was born in 1941 in Oak Park, Illinois, but spent most of her childhood in Wynnewood, PA.  She attended Lower Merion HS and Syracuse University where she met her husband Ed, subsequently settling in Malvern where they lived for over 40 years.

Since a young child, Jean enjoyed the summer months in Ocean City, NJ.  She loved sharing stories of many trips (and some adventures) with friends, be it boating, skiing, or hosting tennis parties.

Jean was an avid gardener spending countless hours in her garden. She was an active member of the Delaware Valley Hosta Society continually hosting events at her home in Malvern inviting guests to explore and enjoy her many, many Hosta. She was also an amazing artist and her family will cherish her many paintings and drawings.  

Jean was predeceased by her husband Edward E. Brennan III, to whom she was married for 54 years. She is survived by her children, Bret (Chutima), Brook Stevens (Sean) and Jason (Colleen); grandchildren, Cassandra Hartz (Ben), Katie Brennan, Jack Brennan and Colin Stevens; and great-grandson Colton Hartz.
