Jean Gilmore

Jean F. Gilmore (nee Ferguson), age 95, of Media, PA, passed away on November 22, 2017. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Leotine Ferguson (nee Chase).



Jean received her Master's Degree in English from Duke University and Villanova University. She served as a WAVE in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea.



Jean had a passion for music. She participated in various church choirs and had a deep love of the symphony and opera.



Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Captain John Wilson Gilmore. She is survived by her loving son, Jack Gilmore.



Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Sunday, December 3, 2017 4:00-6:00 PM The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
