Jean N. McCallion (nee Newman), age 91, of Wayne, PA, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2024. Born in Radnor, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Leon and Martha Ellen Newman (nee Sharp).
Jean was a lifetime resident of Radnor in Delaware County. In her younger days, she worked at Bell Tel, Matthews Ford and Mole’s Florist. However, her true pride and joy was taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was fortunate enough to have even met her latest great grandchild, Vincent, just before her passing. She loved spending time surrounded by her family and friends where they often played cards, especially solitaire, and solved word puzzles around the kitchen table. Jean enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, NJ as a child and later with her children where she would enjoy the beach and taking walks on the boardwalk. Jean also loved weekend getaways with her loving husband where they would spend time at their 2nd home in Locust Lakes in the Poconos. Jean lived to take care of those around her whom she loved so dearly.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late William Richard “Dick” McCallion; loving mother of Sandy Brennan, William R. McCallion Jr. (Brenda), Kimberly Viney (Vince), and Michael McCallion; adoring grandmother of Chelsey, Kelly, Alyssa, Vincent, Kayla, Jake, Hannah, and Kyleigh; caring great grandmother of Trinity, Cyrus, Amara and Vincent III; devoted sister of Martha Sheely, Virginia Vosburg, and the late Bob Sharp.
