Jeanne Datz

October 4, 1929 — June 3, 2017

Jeanne A. Datz, age 87, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Rockville Centre, NY entered eternal life on Saturday, June 3, 2017. She was born in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Charles Nicholas and Anne Gleeson Aicher.

Her spirit is carried on by her three children, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two siblings, and an extended family of relatives and friends from every walk of life. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Jeanne and her favorite pastimes during her 87 years, among them: singing, smiling, sports, staying up on pop culture and the styles of the season, savoring the taste of homemade marinara sauce drizzled over chicken parmigiana, slot machine magic and tricks, swimming, and sunning at the beach. All in all, we learned from her to live life to the fullest while having a grand time in every moment.

Jeanne loved her family dearly and is survived by her brothers John G. (Anne) Aicher of Southhold, NY and Thomas C. (Barbara) Aicher of Rutland, VT; son William C. (Lisa) Datz of Lexington, VA; Nancy D. Sedwitz of San Diego, CA; James G. (Cathy) Datz of West Chester, PA; six grandchildren Katherine Datz, Brian Sedwitz, Timothy Sedwitz, Allison (Caleb) Davis, Ryan Datz, and Daniel Datz; and two great grandsons Liam and Clark Davis.

Jeanne is reunited with the love of her life and favorite dance partner, William August Datz, and is preceded in death by their daughter Jeanne Datz as well as her loving parents. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre, NY on Thursday, June 8 at 11:00 AM A burial will follow at Long Island National Cemetery at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, Jeanne would hope that you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone in her name or make a philanthropic gift in her memory to a charity of your choice.
