Jeanne C. Dwyer

July 26, 1932 — July 6, 2024

Wayne

Jeanne Marie (nee Cooney) Dwyer passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Jeanne was born on July 26, 1932, in Montclair, N.J. The youngest of five children born to John and Marion Cooney, she graduated from Mount Saint Dominic Academy in Caldwell, N.J. in 1950, and Caldwell College in 1954. She married Michael Timothy Dwyer on June 4, 1955, and together they embarked on an adventurous professional and personal journey that led them to live in many locations throughout the United States including New Jersey, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts, California, and Pennsylvania. After raising their children, Jeanne served as the corporate events director at the Devereaux Foundation for 15 years before retiring in 1993. Most of Jeanne’s life was spent in Newtown Square, PA. She was a devout and active parishioner of Saint Katharine of Siena Parish in Wayne, PA and treasured the friendships she made there. A daily Mass attendee, Jeanne served as the Director of Religious Education and a Eucharist Minister. Jeanne was an absolute role model of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She radiated kindness and gratitude towards others in every interaction. The thing she loved most was spending time with her children and thirteen grandchildren. She only saw and celebrated the best in us, and we will miss her terribly.

She was predeceased in 2020 by Michael Timothy Dwyer, her beloved husband of 65 years. She is survived by their four children, Michael T. (Christine) Dwyer, III, Colleen (Tom) Morris, Timothy (Jane) Dwyer, and Kevin (Patricia) Dwyer. Mom Mom was the most amazing and loving grandmother to Mickey and Lauren Dwyer; Sean Morris, Erin (Keegan) McCoy; Maggie, John, Celia, Annie, and Mary Kate Dwyer; and Shannon, Meghan, Kevin and Brendan Dwyer, and great grandmother to Patrick McCoy. She is survived by her dear sister, Marilyn Reilly. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carole Collins, and brothers-in-law George Collins and Gregory Castano. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marion Cooney, brother Jack Cooney, sisters Ginger Taylor and Betty Dennin, sisters-in-law June Castano, Marge Cooney and Ginny Fox, and brothers-in-law Joe Reilly, Jack Taylor, Bob Dennin and Jimmy Fox.
