Jennifer H. Gianfrancesco

Jennifer Helen (née Sovetsky) Gianfrancesco, age 56, died peacefully at home in Philadelphia on January 30, 2025. Born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, she was the daughter of Dr. Charles Lawrence Sovetsky, D.O., and Daisy O. (née Rivera) Sovetsky of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania and Mims, Florida, and the wife of Paul R. Gianfrancesco, Esq. They were married 23 years.
Jennifer graduated from the former Sacred Heart Country Day School (now Sacred Heart Academy) in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1986 and subsequently received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University. Over the years, she worked at several hospitals, including St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Most recently, she worked in the Fox Chase – Temple University Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Program.
Jennifer enjoyed going to Phillies games, listening to true crime podcasts, going on long walks, and reading. She was beloved by many friends and family and was a trusted advisor to them.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, her husband, and her two sons, Dylan Paul Gianfrancesco and Luke Henry Gianfrancesco. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Charles Nelson Sovetsky, D.M.D., of Newtown Square, her aunts Mabel Rivera Huf and Elly Rivera Kinner, her uncles Nelson Rivera, John Sovetsky and Edward Sovetsky, and several cousins.
Family and friends are invited to her Visitation beginning at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at The Donohue Funeral Home at 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 South Sproul Road, Springfield, Pennsylvania, will follow the Service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jennifer’s name may be made to St. Jude Shrine, 512 West Saratoga Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.
