Joan Carson Havens, born in 1923, of Tyca Farm, Newtown Square, PA, passed away on February 10, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Frances Carson (nee Tyson).
Joan was the beloved wife of the late Collier Havens; loving mother of Lea McCrone (Jerry) and Francy Strathmann (Fred); devoted grandmother of Nathanael, Jesse and Ethan Pennington and Kate, Elliot, Luke, and Will Strathmann; and great-grandmother of Harvey, Henry, Samuel, and Grace.
Joan was an avid swimmer, dog lover, member of the Planters Garden Club and Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, as well as an entrepreneur who ran her own business, Flower Arrangements, for over 50 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service Saturday, February 27, 2016 11:00 AM St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 3625 Chapel Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073.
Contributions in her memory to the Delaware County SPCA, 555 Sandy Bank Road, Media, PA 19063 would be appreciated. .
