Joan L. Kelley

Joan L. Kelley (nee Linahan), age 93, of Broomall PA, formally of Overbrook PA, passed away December 1, 2023.  Beloved daughter of the late John B. and Margaret (nee Ryan) Linahan.

Joan was predeceased by her loving husband John A. Kelley and 10 siblings.  She is survived by her dear children: Anne M. Cassells (Kevin), John A. Kelley (Kimberly), Joan Kelley, Thomas C. Kelley, Eileen M. Kelley (Anthony), Michael J. Kelley (Ivy), Edwin “Ted” J. Kelley, and Mark Kelley (Margie); 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Patricia Nickel (late Charles) and Fran Fardone (late Hank).

Joan lived a long and fruitful life. Beyond her most salient passions of wife and mother, she was a woman of many interests and skills. She loved to cook and bake; masterfully tailored clothes; spun pottery; conjured beautiful rose gardens; volunteered at her church; and pulled the levers in Atlantic City. She adored her longtime neighborhood of Overbrook, and especially her parish there, Our Lady of Lourdes; it thrilled her when she was finally eligible to be a Eucharistic Minster there. Devoted to The Virgin Mary, Joan lived a life of prayer and Christian action; the Rosary was a constant source of solace for her. Every day of her life, Joan loved and was loved. She will be dearly missed.

Family and Friends are invited to Joan's viewing Wednesday, December 6th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA.  Her funeral mass will be Thursday, December 7^th, at 10:30 AM, at St. Anastasia's Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, followed by her interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's name to The ALS Association, Philadelphia Chapter (als.org) would be greatly appreciated.
