Joan Mae Psarto Lohr



Joan Mae Psarto Lohr of Coatesville, PA, 87 years of age, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on March 8, 2017 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA.



The widow of Harry O. Lohr, Sr., Joan was born in Coatesville, PA to the late Maryana "Mae" (Zemache) and John J. Psarto (Pisaturo).



Joan was a graduate of S. Horace Scott Senior High School. As a young woman, Joan worked for the Lukens Steel Company and later for the Coatesville Area School District and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.



Joan is survived by her three children, Harry O. Lohr, Jr. (Judith Karp) of Newton, Massachusetts, Jeffrey P. Lohr (Alice) of Atglen, PA, and Christopher K. Lohr (Judy) of Modena, PA; grandchildren Jeffrey P. Lohr II (Jennifer Corzine), Claire E. Chu (Ning), and Nicholas D. Lohr; great-grandchildren Guinevere, Tucker, and Oliver; her brother Joseph Psarto; sisters Nancy Sergovic (John) and Florence Frank; her brother-in-law James Lohr (Helen), and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.



Joan loved life, her family, the shore in the summertime, travel, nature in all its beauty, and her beloved cats.



Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 12 noon at the Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Interment Saint Cecilia Cemetery, 800-948 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA.



In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Meals On Wheels Of Chester County, Inc., 404 Willowbrook Lane, West Chester, PA 19382.
