Joan Madden

Joan C. Madden (nee Reilly), of Wayne, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her entire Madden clan on March 31, 2014. Born on Christmas Day, her home was filled with the spirit of joy and happiness that lasted throughout the year. Joan was patient, kind, tolerant, loving, supportive, and accepting of all. Her heart and home were always open to those in need.



Joan was a member of St. Katharine of Siena Parish her entire life. Her faith never waivered. As the matriarch of the Madden Family, she had the ability to make each of us feel loved and special. She loved reading and enjoyed many hours with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her trips to Ireland, her Santa Claus collection and walking up to Wayne.



Joan was the beloved wife of Charles E. Madden, Jr. with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Dear Mother of Kathy (Andy) Tudo, Charles E. Madden, III (Linda Calio), Joan T. (Michael) Gatto, Michael O. (Annemarie) Madden, Anne M. (Kieran) Behm, Mary K. Tague, Maureen (Peter) Gangl, the late Sean T (Sheila) Madden James M. Madden and Kevin Barry Madden. Beloved sister of Peggy (Art) Vercoe and Thomas J. Reilly. Also survived by her 20 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Monday 10-11 AM, Church of St. Katharine of Siena, 104 S. Aberdeen Avenue, Wayne, PA followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:15AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
