Joan McCoy

Joan M. McCoy (nee Dougherty), age 71, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on June 23, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Anna V. Dougherty (nee Blum).
Joan was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, and received her Bachelor's Degree from St. Joseph College in Maine. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Springfield Hospital for most of her nursing career, then was employed at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill. She retired in 2005 after 40 years of service in the nursing field.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Edward D. McCoy, Sr., her brother, Edward Dougherty and her sister, Nancy Miller. She is survived by her children Kathleen M. (Paul) Ricciardi and Edward D. McCoy, Jr., her grandsons Cameron and Brendan, and her nephew, Michael Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday, June 26, 2015 6:00-8:00 PM and Saturday, June 27, 2015 8:30-9:15 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (Cor. Lynn Blvd.)., Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to her Funeral Mass Saturday 10:00 AM St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
