Joan Petrocelli

November 12, 1934 — June 1, 2017

Joan P. "Patti" Petrocelli (nee Schluth), age 82, of Southwest Philadelphia, PA, passed away on June 1, 2017. Born in South Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Adele Schluth (nee Lippman).



Joan moved to Southwest Philadelphia in 1965 and was a parishioner at St. Barnabas Church. She was employed as a cook at The Homestead and also employed as a Presser at Fox Cleaners, where she left in 1992 to assume the role of primary caregiver during the day for her grandson, Ken and granddaughter, Ashley. She enjoyed spending time at the shore. She also volunteered at a day care reading to the children, participated in delivering Meals on Wheels and spending time at the Southwest Senior Center.



Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernard Petrocelli and her sisters Ellen Wilson, Frances Carmichael and Elizabeth Bockius. She is survived by her children Frank Petrocelli (Lisa), Linda Petrocelli (David Boyle) and Bernard Petrocelli, Jr. Also survived by her grandchildren Kenneth Brown, Jr., Ashley Brown, Lauren Petrocelli and Sophia Petrocelli, her great-grandson Chad Andrew Brown, her sister Catherine Forbes and many nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, June 7, 2017 7:00-9:00 PM The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA and to her Funeral Mass Thursday, June 8, 2017 10:00 AM St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.



In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 403, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 would be appreciated.
