Joan C. Storey (nee Connell), age 82, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on November 2, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Kathryn Connell (nee Horgan).
Joan was employed as a clerk at the Delaware County Court House. She coached Girls Basketball in Upper Darby and also coached Girls Little League Softball. She was involved with her sons in Cub Scouts, where she was a Den Mother, and the Boy Scouts. She was also a Troop Leader with the Girls Scouts.
Joan was a graduate of St. Leonard's Academy and a 50 year member of St. Laurence Church where she was a member of the choir. She was involved in the St. Laurence and Annunciation BVM Senior Citizens Groups. She enjoyed shopping and going to the casinos with her friends. She remained socially active having lunches with her friends up to the end. She enjoyed her family and spending time with them, especially during the holidays and Brunch at Easter and Mother's Day.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice C. Storey and her siblings John Connell and Rosemary Eagan (the late Ken). She is survived by her children Michael J., Robert T. (Karen Kelly), Carolyn S. Bruce (John) and Thomas F. (Lori), her 8 grandchildren, Devan, Kathryn, Jacqueline, Shauna, Erica, Brianna, Jason and Paul and her 4 great-grandchildren, Alayna, Kylie, Hailey and Lilyanna. Joan is also survived by her sister-in-law Helen Connell.
