Joan S. Witwer

Joan S. Witwer (nee Spangler), 96, of West Chester, PA, passed away on January 1, 2023.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1926, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Miller and Carolyn (nee Carrie Mae Fouche) Spangler.  Joan graduated from N.J. State Teacher’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree and was a school teacher for many years in Pequannock Township, NJ.  Through her life, Joan was a member of, and sang in the choir, at the First Presbyterian Church of Roselle, NJ; the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, NJ; and the Immanuel United Church of Christ, of Shillington, PA.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Warren B. Witwer; the loving mother of Donna Demarest, D. Evan Kanouse, Suzanne Lee, Deborah Sisco, Ronald Witwer, Jeffrey Witwer, and Michael Witwer; predeceased by her brother, Jacob Spangler; also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Giles Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, 77 DeForest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ, followed by the interment. Contact Bill Demarest for details on Luncheon and Hotel rooms (703-509-5629).
