Joan Elizabeth Woods, age 73, formally of Philadelphia and most recently from Exton, PA, went to be with her Lord on October 19th, 2018.
Joan lived her life with passion and grace and devoted her life to serving the Lord, nursing, and her family.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived part of her life in Columbia and Guatemala traveling with her missionary parents and her siblings.
She graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia and went on to further her professional career and became a nurse anesthetist. She was the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia, until her retirement.
Joan was active in her church, Tenth Presbyterian in Philadelphia for many years. She loved to travel internationally but, her greatest joy was spending time at the beach with her family.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John Erwin and Ruth (McLaughlin) Woods, and her brother John Monroe Woods. Her surviving relatives include James Allen Woods (brother) and his wife Anne Dabrow Woods, Stephanie and Charles Magonagle and their daughter Marleigh; Katie Dabrow and Kelly Woods and sister-in-law, Jeanne Woods.
The funeral will be private. A celebration of Joan's life will be held at a later date.
