Joann Richey (nee Schorr), 89, of West Brandywine Twp., formerly of Chesapeake Bay, MD and Valley Forge, PA, passed away on May 11, 2013 at Freedom Village.
Joann was born in Columbus, OH in 1923.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed gardening, cooking and interior design and spending time with her family.
Joann volunteered at the Valley Forge Veteran Hospital during Vietnam. She and her husband, Philip, volunteered installing life lines for the elderly.
Joann was the beloved wife of the late Philip L. Richey; loving mother of Philip J. Richey and Sue Ann Richey (formerly Sharpless); devoted grandmother of Tim Sharpless (Katie), Blake Sharpless, Brian Sharpless and great-grandmother of Brianna, Josh, Hayley, Shane and Ryan; dear sister of Virginia Long of Kerrville, TX.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service 11:00 AM Thursday at Freedom Village, 15 Freedom Blvd., Coatesville, PA 19320. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
