Joanne L. "Jo" Dougherty

Joanne L. “Jo” Dougherty (née Hibberd), age 74, of West Chester, PA, passed away on April 23, 2022 after a brief illness.

Born in Drexel Hill, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Allan G. and Jean Hibberd (née Russel).

Jo was raised in Broomall, PA, on the Hibberd farm and later moved to West Chester where she has been since 1984.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cars, volunteering, helping others, and was an avid reader and animal lover. Jo loved people and was always helping others whenever she could. She was a longtime employee of AT & T and eventually retired from Verizon where she worked at the Paoli, West Chester, and Wayne branches. Jo also spent the last 15 years working part-time at the West Chester Area School District in the HR Department.

Jo was the loving wife of David E. Dougherty for 33 wonderful years; caring sister of Betsie Moran (the late Jay) and the late Jean Titter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Services and Interment are Private.
