Joanne R. Pennypacker (nee Rice), 74, of Downingtown, PA passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on June 12, 2016.
Born in West Chester, PA in 1941, Joanne was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Dubosq) Rice.
She grew up on a local dairy farm and worked as a Dental Assistant right out of high school and for GE before moving on to her long-term career running the Pennypacker Country Club for the last 30 years.
Joanne was a strong, loving woman who loved to play tennis, golf, vacation in Block Island & Charleston, SC. She also enjoyed spending time with her family in their mountain cabin in Lock Haven, PA.
She was the beloved wife of Paul L. Pennypacker, Jr. for 54 years; loving mother of Paul L. Pennypacker, III (Darlene) of Chester Springs, PA and Andrea P. Dortone (Dean) of Downingtown, PA; loving grandmother of Ryan Pennypacker, Connor Dortone and Kaelee Dortone; dear sister of Robert Rice and Richard Rice.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-10:30 AM Saturday, June 18, 2016, followed by her Memorial Service 10:30 AM at East Nantmeal Christian Fellowship Church, 900 Nantmeal Road, Elverson, PA 19520. Interment E. Nantmeal Christian Fellowship Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilbrum, GA 30047.
The Pennypacker would like to thank the Holisticare Hospice for their loving, dedicated care of Joanne during her illness.
