John Collo

November 16, 1948 — April 16, 2016

John N. Del Collo, Esquire, 67, of Thornton, PA died suddenly at his home on Saturday, April 16, 2016.



John lived life to the fullest and was active not only in his community at home but in the legal communities in which he practiced law.



After graduating from St. Joseph's University, John served in the US Army Reserves. Upon completing his service, he received his Juris doctor from the Delaware Law School.



An avid runner himself, John coached Cardinal O'Hara's Cross Country teams in the 70's and 80's, including the Women's Championship Cross Country Team in 1979.



John also officiated football at the high school and collegiate levels for over 23 years. He loved all sports, and enjoyed helping to coach football at St. Aloysius Academy and baseball with Eastside Little League.



He was an Eagles season ticket holder for 62 years.



As an attorney, he served the people he represented with a compassion known to few others. He truly cared about the law and his clients. He was known by the members of the bar for his willingness to donate his time and was recognized with the Pennsylvania Bar Association 2015 Pro Bono Award for his services. He also gave his time and legal expertise to the Women's Resource Center in Media.



Above all else, John loved his family.



John is survived by his wife, Michele B. Del Collo (nee Small); his children, Brian J. Del Collo, LSSN, USN and Kerri Del Collo; his sister, Jennifer Frost and her husband, James; his mother-in-law, Constance Small; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.



Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and Friday 8:30-10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Rd, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Int. St. Agnes Cem.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Aloysius Academy, 401 S. Bryn Mawr Ave, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 or to Cardinal O'Hara High School, 1701 S. Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
