John H. Coneys

John H. Coneys, age 60, of Havertown, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 11, 2025. John was the beloved son of John P. and Carolyn M. (nee Harding) Coneys, born in Darby, PA. John was a devoted husband, father, brother, mentor, and friend. 

John was the loving husband of Catherine (Shallow); loving father of Samantha Coneys (age 23), Alexandra Coneys (age 22), and Zachary Coneys (age 20); compassionate brother of Lorraine Hamilton (Andrew), Christopher Coneys (Jennifer), Carolyn Coneys, and Elizabeth McMahon (Colin); caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. 

John graduated from Annunciation (1979), Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast (1983) and Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1988) and a Master of Business Administration (1990). John believed in the power of education, he never stopped striving to learn more about history, world events and so much more. John developed as a significant mentor. As a mortgage banker for 35 years, John helped many people to own a home. Through all his success, John remained a humble and kind man. 

John spent majority of his life giving back to the community. He remained dedicated to the Bonner community and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023. John was committed to providing tuition assistance so that others could experience a Catholic education. 

 John believed in Family First. He was a man of faith and whole-heartedly believed that putting one’s family above all was the only way to live. As a simple man, nothing brought John more joy and love than being surrounded by his family and his closest friends. 

Family and friends are invited to John’s Viewing 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
