John J. Doran

John J. Doran, 81, of Honey Brook, PA and formerly of West Chester and Philadelphia, PA passed away July 31, 2023.

John was for the last 16 years the Chester County Recorder of Deeds Clerk.

John helped implement and oversee the Veterans Program for Chester County. John served in the US Air Force (1959-63) and retired from the Philadelphia Police Department at the rank of Lieutenant (1963-1979). John also worked at Selby Battersby, a subsidiary of Quaker Chemical Co. (1981-1994). John was a Regional Advisor for Alpha Mid Atlantic for many years and also helped run the Alpha Course at SS. Simon and Jude Church for 14 years helping people discover, develop or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through participation in the Course. He was also a member and officer of the American Legion Post 134, West Chester.

Born in Philadelphia in 1941, he was the only child of Mildred (nee Zerone) and John J. Doran, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, Maureen (nee Hagan), children Diana, Johanna, Brian Doran (Dr. Lorri Wilson), and Shannon Feola (Michael), 6 grandchildren Joseph, Josie, Scarlett, Hazel Doran, Madison and Abby Feola, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 9:30-11:00 AM Friday, August 4, 2023 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, PA.  Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
