John Bernard Foley, 90, of Media, Pa (formerly of Springfield, Pa) passed away on December 23, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents John B. Foley, Sr. and Mary A. Foley (nee Tighe), his brother Thomas Foley and sister Gertrude McKenney. He served in the US Navy from 12/09/1944 and was honorably discharged July 11, 1946, serving on the USS Colonial LSD in the Pacific. He was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was in the US Navy Reserve 11/13/1948 and then recalled to active duty 04/17/1950 where he served at Willow Grove Air Base during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on 11/12/1953. John was a delivery driver for Sealtest & Bryers Ice Cream from the 1950's until 1966. He became a Springfield Police Officer in 1966 until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the NRA, VFW and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #27. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his family. John is survived by his beloved wife Jean, loving daughters, Maryanne Foley, Susan (George) Urban Janet (Harry) James, grandchildren Karolina and Alexander Urban, Jesse (Niki) James, Sarah (Chris)Mace, Keith James, great-grandchildren Ciana, Breydon , Harry IV James, Blake and Hadley Mace and his brother Leo (Helen) Foley.
