John Freeberry

December 26, 1941 — August 27, 2019

John R. Freeberry, age 77, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA passed away on August 27, 2019. He was the loving son of the late Raymond and Rose Freeberry (nee Regan).

John was a graduate of St. Joseph’s University. He had a long and successful career at Merck & Company and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, where he held a variety of leadership positions in Market Research and Pricing Strategy. He enjoyed building teams, mentoring others, and took great pride in his colleague’s successes. He had a great mind, and loved to solve problems, both at work and in his personal life.

He was a kind-hearted, empathetic family man with a great sense of humor. He was fun loving, always up for a good time, a joke and a laugh. He always had a positive outlook on life and found the silver lining in all situations. John loved fixing things, he was always doing household projects and found ways to help family and friends with home projects. He enjoyed golfing with friends and this past summer, playing golf with his grandson. He loved watching the Eagles with his family, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, hiking with his dog, boating, and traveling with his wife Pat, especially to Switzerland.

John is the loving husband of his wife Patricia “Pat” Freeberry (nee Nulty) with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; beloved father of Amy Timmins (Matt) and Carrie Robichaud (Dave); adoring grandfather of Ryan, Liam and Emma Timmins; caring brother of Raymond Freeberry; devoted uncle of Jeannine Hipp, Carolyn Gardener, Susan Hampson, Kathleen Hughes and their families.
