John J. "Wally" Herbst, age 51, of Milmont Park, PA, formerly of Bywood, PA, passed away suddenly on January 23, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Mary Herbst Graifer (Sam) and the late Robert F. Herbst.
John was a family man who loved spending time with his wife and was a great father to his son, Chris. He enjoyed music and was very handy around the house. He was employed for the Haverford School District and took pride in his job working as a groundskeeper.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife, Michele (nee Carosi), his loving son, Chris, his beloved dog, Boomer, his siblings Bob (Georgieann), Marianne Herbst (Neil Tobin), Steve, and Theresa Raynor (Scott), and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, February 1, 2016 10:00-11:00 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Children's Hospital Cardiac Care Unit, 34th & Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104 would be appreciated.
